Originally from East Tennessee, I have lived in Maine since 1988, but I still have my accent. I came into photography later in life, hence the Hot Flashes. I am blessed to have a job that allows me to travel all over Maine and I am seldom without a camera. Most frequently, I use a Nikon D-80.

I have had a long and storied career as a practitioner and teacher of architectural and engineering design on the high school and college level. I am now the Executive Director of a state-wide non-profit agency that focuses on improving the financial well-being of Maine's people. I have always recognized the importance of a respectful relationship between humans and the natural environment within which we live. In my photography as in my work, I seek to communicate that balance.

My other hobbies include performing as a humorist, writing and cooking. I love a good tale, and hope that my photos tell a story as well.
